Value
Item of most value is the warranty.
Costs
Expect £500+ services, and frequent expensive repairs.

Driving
For a 4x4, good. As an alternative to a car, for most journeys, a poor choice.
Performance
For a two ton vehicle, not bad, but not lively either.

Living with it
Reliability
This was an early TD5, but even so...£10,000 of repairs in one 12 month period, plus loads of other problems requiring dealer attention almost every month in the two and a half years that I had it. And it had an easy life, travelling on motorways.
Image
Great image, my sex life was far more interesting while I had it, and I didn't flaunt it.
Comfort
Great for small drivers, poor leg room in back though.

Security and Service
Security
Security OK, except when the door latches fail, and prevent you from securing the vehicle.
Service
Service was good. A shame the car didn't match it.

Problems and Ownership
Problems

Replacement engine due to cracked cylinder head that affected some early TD5s.

Water in fuel sensor (x6), door latch, steering column, EGR pipe metal fatigue, intermittent switch gear.
