Land Rover Discovery (2004 - 2017) 3.0 SDV6 HSE Luxury (11/13-) 5d Auto Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I've enjoyed my time with Land Rovers and the Discovery 4 has been a fantastic car, loved by all the family. It is immensely practical, has a superb view from the driver's seat, is as smooth as silk to drive and be driven in and is hugely capable off road. It has a classless image and can fit in anywhere without looking out of place and conspicuous. The depreciation, until the last month or two, has been very slow, although it's picked up a fair bit during May/June 2017. The only thing that has concerned me is the reliability of this one. The first breakdown and recovery was quick and painless, with the dealer sorting it withing a day or two and I was back on the road. The second took them 10 days and (only half a day after picking it up again) it broke down again, with the same problem and has been back at the dealer for another 3 days with no idea of when I shall see it again. It's just occurred to me that I paid £45,000 for this, 1 year old D4, from a main dealer, 7 or 8 months ago and I can't depend on it for work. Until this car proves reliable and the dealer shows that they can problem solve efficiently, it's with a heavy heart that I say that I would no longer recommend this, otherwise absolutely brilliant, car.
How reliable do you find the car?
This is my fifth Land Rover and my second Discovery 4. Three were perfect (including my first Disco 4), with one slightly troublesome Freelander but, for the first time, the dependability of this car is a very real concern, leaving me stranded and waiting for a flat bed recovery three times during the last 3 months, twice within the last 2 weeks alone!About their car
