In their own words
Catalogue of electrical problems from delivery and 8 weeks off the road. Hardly dare say everytyseems to have settled down apart from occasional MMI problems which reset on stopping and restarting. On long journeys very relaxed and up to 36 mph. 2.0 engine difficult to drive smoothly away from rest accelerator response too sensitive. Corners of tailgate very pointed and easy to cut one’s head on when it has not completely opened to full height. Cannot disable rear swipe sensing which opens the tailgate when you walk past close to rear. When rolling gear change very smooth and NVH very good quieter than V6 at motorway cruising speeds. Good for towing and rear camera very useful when backing up to trailer hitch. Mirrors distort view and make it much more difficult to reverse cf Discovery 4. Really miss split tailgate which was brilliant on Disco 4. Cannot see front corners which makes tight manoeuvres very dependent on parking sensors. Deplorable tow bar great on this car but previous Disco 5 it broke twice so alway a little nervous about it. Don’t trust the satnav to always set the most sensible route it also persists on return to original route for too long when you divert Lack of handbook really annoying a penny pinching lunacy by bean counters. Also leather cleaner no longer supplied on delivery headlight switched was changed so you no longer have positive positional reference I had several occasions when I twisted it the wrong way and all the lights went out terrifying on unlit country roads and needs changing
