Summary
What does this car say about you?
I didn't buy the vehicle as a fashion statement. The car is a reasonable size 4x4 that is happy around town, on the open and is capable of venturing off road. The car says I am practicle.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Family and friends really like the car, so much so that a relative of ours bought an identical vehicle.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I am happy with the car but would not buy another one for the simple reason that we miss the load carrying capacity that we had when we owned a Land Rover Discovery. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Freelander to anyone.
What are you likely to buy next?
Land Rover Discovery or Land Rover Defender 110.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Great to drive, surefooted and stable, throttle very responsive and reasonable fuel consumption. comfortable seats and a good driving position.
What's it like to park?
No problems at all, its got a good turning circle, decent sized door mirrors and visibility is good except to the rear. However the vehicle does have rear parking sensors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Had no problems at all for almost 2 years but within the last year the Starter needed replacing, a window mechanism needed replacing, the cam sensor and one of the fuel pumps needed replacing and the prop shaft bearings have had to renewed. The electric sunroof mechanism has also failed but I never really used it anyway. A lot of parts have had to be replaced within the last year but having said that the vehicle has now got 140,000 miles on the clock.
What's most practical about your car?
4X4 Capability in a medium sized comfortable vehicle.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Cruise control, really useful on long runs.
