Summary
What does this car say about you?
According to Deardrie from Hastings, who has little to do but phone Radio 2 every Lunchtime, Im a Planet Destroyer, as I have a 4x4, I'm not really concerned what this Car says about me, hopefully, sensible people will realise that this Car averages 37 mpg & is in the same Tax Band as a Mondeo 2.0 Petrol & if they bothered to find out why I like it so much, they might actually buy one themselves.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They all love it, even my Green Eyed Brother in Law - who once said that a Jeep Cherokee was a nice Car-has admitted he likes the look of it, if he drove it, he'd love it
Would you buy this car again and why?
Definitely, before I bought this Car, I had a Freelander 2 TD4 HSE courtesey car for the day (which is priced at £33,000)& apart from the Engine, which is phenominal, there is not a great deal of difference between these Cars, I'll probably keep this one for 18 months - 2 years, after which, I'll probably go for an 06 or 56 reg same model.
What are you likely to buy next?
The Freelander 2 is brilliant, but expensive & most of the expense has gone into the 4x4 drive system, which if you're not going to use, is an expensive burden. Thanks to it's success, the Freelander 1 is widely available & at reasonable prices, to me, there's not a massive difference between them, apart from the Engine, so I'll be going for the very newest Freelander 1 TD4 Sport Premium Auto I can Find.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Beautiful, really smooth & relaxing, I drove 370 miles today & it felt like I only drove 10, the only downside being the Continental Tyres, which tend to follow uneven road surfaces, combined with the harder ride of the Sport compared to the SE, which has Michelin Synchrone Tyres & will ride straight over uneven roads, still, the sport will tuck into bends & roundabouts better. Dead easy to drive around Town & easy to park thanks to parking sensors & good visibility. Motorway cruising is a breeze, as it has Cruse Control & the Engine is powerful & flexible enough to cope with hils, whatever load is on board.
What's it like to park?
Easy, the parking sensors are deadly accurate, the steering is really light & visibility is better than a normal car.
