What does this car say about you?
Premium brand but highly practical.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
No complaints.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, it's a great car which does everything I want. I am a huge Land Rover fan and this is the most practical and affordable Land Rover for me to use daily.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£11,500
When did you buy the car?
October 2012
Did you get a good deal and why?
It was a fair deal. The vehicle was a good buy because it had only had one owner, who works in the dealership, so they knew the vehicle history very well and had always serviced in themselves.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Replacement for an older Freelander.
What was the dealer like?
As you would expect from a main Land Rover dealer. Impressive showroom full of new Range Rovers and such like.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's very easy to drive for a 4x4 - very well behaved on the road and great off road. Equally at home on country lanes, in town or on motorways. Cruises well thanks to 6th gear and is quieter than the Freelander 1. Torquey diesel engine holds on to higher gears for longer.
What's it like to park?
Obviously size is an issue for tight spaces, but very manoeuvrable for its size.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Only very minor problems. The battery failed are 6 weeks of non-use over the winter. Not surprising for a 6 year old vehicle. The only other issue is an occasional and seemingly random tendency for the electrical system to cut out when trying to start. Removing an reinserting the key fob cures this, but it leaves the trip computer reset to zero. It's only happened two or three times.
What's most practical about your car?
Four wheel drive, ground clearance, wading depth are all great for living in the country, especially in floods and snow.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Terrain Response.
