Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£26,000
When did you buy the car?
October 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
I was happy with the deal, I was able to px another brand of car.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I live in a rural village which has long narrow lanes and needed the 4 wheel drive to cope with the muddy slippery conditions at times and the superb comfort the car gives me.
What was the dealer like?
The salesman was working on a Sunday as I drove passed the dealer I spotted the car on the forecourt. I stopped at around 6pm and the salesman was already showing someone around the car the person left without leaving a deposit and said they would be back on Monday. I spoke to the salesman who was polite he took the time to show me around the car it was about 6.45 by now and he wanted to get home as did I so we agreed to leave a fully refundable deposit so we could test drive on Monday in case the other person returned. As it turned out the other person did ring back first thing on Monday only to be told I had left a deposit and if I didn't buy the car they would be told.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
This car is easy to drive the auto is so smooth you don't notice it changing gears. The steering is light. It has cruise control and for motorway driving its relaxing fairly quiet and the view of the road is great being sat up high. It has I think more than enough power for day to day driving.
What's it like to park?
It has a good turning circle and the steering is easy to turn quickly so parking is easy even in tight spaces but I do find myself relying on the parking sensors which do give you plenty of warning when your near something.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Yes it has gone wrong a couple of times but I haven't been stranded as the Land Rover assist did everything possible to keep me mobile with minimal hassle. Servicing costs are high but it has taken us all over the country most comfortably and safely in all weathers I would buy another one when this one retires. It does make me smile when it's icey and slippery the car just amazes me how it grips the road.
What's most practical about your car?
The seating is very flexible and getting in and out of the car is also easy.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
It's most useful gadget is definitely the front and rear parking sensors, the view to the rear isn't brilliant.
