Land Rover Range Rover Sport (2005 - 2013) 3.0 SDV6 HSE Black Edition 5d Auto Owner Review

In their own words
Read my earlier comments.
The car is brilliant. I would/will probably go for the 4.4 next time around, but apart from some low end lag in this 3.0 SDV6 version, it performs well in terms of acceleration, but pays the price in fuel consumption.
Cornering on a twisty B road is great, yes you have some body lean, but the visibility that the height gives you makes up for this , both in terms of road visibility, but also in terms of being able to see around you - makes car passengers happy.
This is a Black edition, that has lots of toys, but even a standard car is well equipped and it is really comfortable to drive and be a passenger in.
In practical terms, it is smaller than an estate, far easier to park than a Jag XF (my previous car), comfortable and yet can act as a van when you need it to.
Just great
How reliable do you find the car?
Genuinely brilliant. Our mileage is really low, which you could say is helping the view, however, it has been great. We had an intermittent issue right at the start, which we didn't get to the bottom of - power seemed to disappear. However, this has not occurred in over 3 years. One amazing point is the tires. We are still on the same set that came with the car and have just passed the MOT. The wear has been brilliant and this is despite taking the car off-roading 3 times and doing very long hall drives across Europe.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
I am not an off-road car fan (I have spent most of my life in Alfa's - sublime to the ridiculous). My wife always wanted a Range Rover and had always had soft roaders from various Japanese manufacturers that I hated. When we went down to one car as both of our jobs changed, we initially kept my car, so when it came time to change and we could afford the sport, we did it. My initial views remain the same - wish it was faster and more agile. But genuinely love the car now and we will almost certainly going to buy another. We live in London and copes brilliantly around London (be confident it is big, but you will get in that space), but it excels on long drives - Northern Italy back to home in 10 hours with me doing all the driving and getting out the car not exhausted and quite relaxed.About their car
