Summary
What does this car say about you?
What does a Range Rover say about anyone? People tend to look up at me while at the same time looking down their noses....
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Suitably impressed, as they should be.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, but probably not the same colour.
What are you likely to buy next?
Maybe the latest shape, in a few years time.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£50,000
When did you buy the car?
December 2013
Did you get a good deal and why?
I had to squeeze a fair bit as I didn't really get a good trade in offer for my Mercedes, although the dealer gave me a fair price for my Freelander. Ended up paying a little more than I really wanted to.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
My previous Freelander was too small.
What was the dealer like?
I have dealt with this dealer before with my Freelander and they still produce the goods. I wish I had the same salesperson as before, but sometimes you have to go with what you're given.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Sublime. It cruises effortlessly on the motorways and A roads. Being able to see over the cars in front really adds to the safety aspect (shame about the cars behind me though). Twisty roads and slow corners/roundabouts can be a bit of a struggle sometimes as the engine sometimes bogs down in the wrong gear.
What's it like to park?
There's no getting away from the fact that it's a huge car in a country of small parking spaces. Rear camera and parking sensors help to some extent, but you still need your wits about you, especially in multi-story car-parks.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
A few things that should really have been sorted before I took delivery - heated seat wasn't working, some interior trim was loose, and there was a worn/noise wiper blade. All of these items were sorted under warranty (excellent service from the dealer by the way).
What's most practical about your car?
The comfort and elevated driving position. Recently went on a 2500 mile driving holiday to Scotland and the car didn't break a sweat - very comfortable, easy driving. Stability and size of the car lends a huge amount of confidence no matter how bad the roads get.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Heated/cooled seats. Multi-way adjustable seat makes finding a comfortable position really easy. Rotary gear knob really does add the sense of more room in the cabin.
