Land Rover Range Rover 3.5 Vogue 4d Auto (1991/H) Owner Review

Economy
Value
I paid £3,700. Well worth the money. That was 3 years ago, I've since sold her, but am looking for another.
Costs
Parts are quite reasonable if you go to independant Land Rover specialists. Easy to work on, giant Tonka toy.

On the road
Driving
On Motorways and A roads it's really comfortable, high driving position means you can see trouble miles away. Once you get over the initial shock of the body roll, it is actually a very nimble car. You can throw it around, should you want to.
Performance
108 mph from a 100,000 mile 2.5 turbo diesel is not bad. Surprisingly quick off the mark for a 2 ton car.

Living with it
Reliability
Only let me down once, when a £15 part failed on the clutch. Engine never failed or caused any problems. I had the VM engine too!
Image
Says you have arrived somewhere. Not as swanky as it used to be, but thats to be expected.
Comfort
Very big comfortable chairs, made long journeys much easier. Does not get upset by bumpy roads.

Security and Service
Security
Security not so good, a strong man could pull open the top tail gate. Luckily they have now lost some of their theft appeal.
Service
Main dealers are very expensive.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
2.5 VM turbo diesel, caused most men to run away. Mine never missed a beat, heard horror stories from other people though.
