Land Rover Range Rover 3.5 Vogue EFi 4d Auto (1989/G) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Even though they seem a tad pricey for their age, you get a car with all the toys, a superb ride and something you can take absolutely anywhere.
Costs
Astronomical fuel bills - I average about 14mpg. With today's rocketing prices, an LPG conversion is almost essential. On the up-side, parts are easy to come by and fairly inexpensive.

On the road
Driving
A very nice drive. HUGE turning circle, smooth, comfy ride, a very lively engine coupled with a silky smooth auto box. Tends to lean a bit on quick bends - look out on those roundabouts!
Performance
For such a huge vehicle, the performance is awesome. On paper, it will keep up with most family saloons to 60mph (10.9 secs) and drive at 90mph on the motorway at just over 3000rpm. Put it off-road in low ratio and it could pull a house over!

Living with it
Reliability
Can be quite a tempramental cow! Try not to skip a service, or you will be punished.
Image
Regardless of age or condition, there is something almost regal about these cars. We aren't snobs, you just need to own one to know what I mean.
Comfort
Just like sitting in an armchair. One of the most comfy cars I have ever been in.

Security and Service
Security
Very sore point. Land Rover seem to have forgotten that there are such things as car thieves out there. I can unlock my car with a knife - as I have done a few times. Get an alarm. Get a good one!
Service
Land Rover dealers have a special place in their heart for classic Range Rovers.
