Summary
What does this car say about you?
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, for all the reasons already given, although the LWB versions are quite rare, and I hope to hang on to mine, even though it's now done 140,000+ miles; uses no oil to speak of, and is overall great fun to drive.
What are you likely to buy next?
This was bought as a weekend car, and I hope to hang on to it.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£1,950
When did you buy the car?
August 2006
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, I think so; the car was in good condition, but the vendor didn't understand LPG and it was running poorly, although perfectly driveable.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted an old RR, especially the long-wheel-base version; this was converted to run on both petrol and LPG, so an added bonus.
What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Very easy ; the auto works very well, altho the steering is not exactly direct, and it takes a bit of getting used-to at weekends after driving an Audi A8 Quattro all week. M-Ways are fine, but I stick to about 65/70; the elevated driving position means excellent visibilty, and road-spray in the wet is much less than in an ordinary car. M-Way hills are no problem; the power means no real difference in speed and the gearbox is very smooth.
What's it like to park?
Good and bad. Good, because kerbs don't affect it, and country lanes are simple to park in, by dint of going onto the mud at the side. Bad, because the turning circle is poor, and so small spaces in villages are tricky.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
It needed the LPG fettling, a new rear half-shaft, a replacement rear diff, and some of the electics didn't work :- the a/c, the cruise, and the seats. Total costs about £800.
What's most practical about your car?
1. The interior space is fantastic for 4/5 people and their equipment for a day out across the Welsh mountains. 2. The LPG means a real-world mpg equivalent of about 30mpg -- that's around 36mpg averaging 60mph on M roads, and 28 on country lanes and very light off-road running -- rough tracks rather than green-laning ! 3. The 4 WD means no problems with accessibility anywhere. 4. The ride height gives superb views on narrow mountain roads.
