Summary
What does this car say about you?
Probably that I can't afford a new one. I use it for my business and it looks impressive, even though its 13 years old.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Family like it, friends like it, neighbours think I've won the lottery.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I'm on my 10th Range Rover so I'm not the best person to ask.
What are you likely to buy next?
02 onwards Range Rover.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£2,500
When did you buy the car?
April 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Excellent deal because people think that the road tax on a Range Rover is insanely expensive. In truth, if you buy a pre-2001 one it's £185 a year. Not bad at all. Cheaper than a 2002 Focus.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
My 200th car and my 10th Range Rover. I love 'em.
What was the dealer like?
N/a.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Slightly ponderous in corners, but it is a 2 ton 4x4 with air suspension. If you want a GTi, this isn't it. Better than any other 4x4 of its age though.
What's it like to park?
Easy to see out of, light steering, auto gearbox and programmable dipping mirrors for when you engage reverse. It's big, but not prohibitively so.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Speaker amplifier needed replacing, cost £3.20 off Ebay and 15 minutes to fit. Aircon needs work, but that's only a couple of hours to put right.
What's most practical about your car?
Everything really, the greatest multi-purpose vehicle in the world. Use it as a limousine, for greenlaning, for cross continental touring, towing, carrying things, towing, or for nipping the shops. It does it all well.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
12 speaker stereo system is nice, on board computer is exceptionally clever (although it knows too much..)
