Land Rover Range Rover 4.6 HSE 4d (1994/L) Owner Review

Economy
Value
It's not exactly a bargain. Asking price doesn't reflect build qulaity and depreciation is catastrophic.
Costs
Cheaper to run a Boeing 747. £7,000 in maintenance in 18 months. Basic service is around £700. LPG is a must. I'd be quite well off if it wasn't for this car.

On the road
Driving
Air suspension makes a dog's dinner of the slightest pot hole. Brakes are rubbish and steering is like sailing the Queen Mary in a stiff breeze. Comfy in traffic though.
Performance
Pretty nippy considering its size and weight. Quite easy to put the average boy racer to shame.

Living with it
Reliability
I lay awake at night wondering what will go wrong next. Disgraceful for such a pricey car.
Image
This is the rub - it's why I've spent so much money keeping it - because it's a Range Rover. Although my patience has finally run out and it's going very soon.
Comfort
Very comfy indeed - unless you're on a bumpy road.

Security and Service
Security
Seems to be well protected. No-one's tried to nick it anyway - but then I don't think they could afford to.
Service
Don't bare your bum at the main dealer - you'll come out the garage in tears. Pricey and very dopey. Find a reputable independant specialist.
