Summary
What does this car say about you?
I'm no sheep. I don't want to breakdown and pay £420 annual road tax, I do want to get to 60mph under 5.3 seconds and achieve 30mpg!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Wife loves it - her 2010 SLK 350 was as fast but with its patchy quality and poor reliability it was history within a year.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes without reservation - well the new GS when I change this one. It is a pleasure to drive and manages to make you feel good when driving it. The dealer service is also a revelation.
What are you likely to buy next?
Either another GS450h or new Jaguar XJ (if I am brave enough to risk it!). The Jag, like the Lexus, comes fully equipped. The 'premium' brands continue to rip us off for options that should already be fitted - no thanks.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Smooth and effortless. The power is addictive and as a result I use it all the time. The car is heavy and does not like to be thrown about - try it and all sorts of alarms and bells go off. It is safe and will get you out of any trouble though. Seats are supportive and I have never felt any discomfort after a long drive. It is poles apart for comfort compared to the rock hard Audi but not as sporty as a BMW. A compromise of the two, and it won't breakdown like a Mercedes. The steering is weighted well but does lack some communication at high speed.
What's it like to park?
She is a big old beast but with reversing cameras and clever parking aids it's not an issue. She is also wide so average spaces are a squeeze. It's a shame the mirrors don't fold automatically.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Not a thing - it has been faultless.
What's most practical about your car?
Certainly not the boot, but I knew that. Otherwise it is quiet and very smooth making any journey stress free.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
The Mark Levinson stereo is good but not a WOW as expected. The sport and power settings are my favourite! I hate the sat nav - the most unintuitive I have ever come across.
