Summary
What does this car say about you?
I'm successful at what I do.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
People like it, admire the outside and the interior, they know it's a premium brand. Sadly the diesel engine and added requirements are poor. Currently getting 25 mpg and I do not have a heavy right foot at all.
Would you buy this car again and why?
No (definitely not as a Diesel), possibly petrol.
What are you likely to buy next?
A Toyota.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£8,500
When did you buy the car?
May 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes, I got it £500 cheaper than expected given book prices. That sadly was where the good points ended.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
My previous Lexus IS 200 SE Auto(petrol) was a great car and I was looking to upgrade to newer model.
What was the dealer like?
Dealer was okay, can't grumble. I wouldn't say it was exceptional service.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's very, very comfortable, you hit potholes and hear it but you don't feel it. Ride quality is great.
What's it like to park?
No bother, always reverse park.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Within a few months smoke started coming from the bonnet, (7500 miles approx) Turbo died costing £2500 to replace. EGR valve needed replaced at a cost of £360 just 18 months after removing it and cleaning it. Battery died just after last MOT costing £162. Wheel bearing £200. Problem since buying car with water in tyre well and at the left hand side of the boot. 6th gear is an ornament that causes shudder at legal speed limit and causes rear view mirror to vibrate.
What's most practical about your car?
It does fit 5 adults comfortably and ride quality is very good. Good size boot.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
6 disc CD changer.
