Lexus IS Saloon (2005 - 2012) 250 4d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
10 litres will take you 50 miles if you have a light foot. Amazing sound from the engine upon harsh acceleration (not mentioning the exhaust) Manual gearshift indeed notchy as per many reviews - but once you get used to it and don't treat it as a possible fault, it is all good. It feels heavy and stable. If you wanted to fly you must rave it properly (bullet proof engine, no worries there) Gears take time to get used to: short 1st gear, silly 6th gear - doing 70mph at 2600rpm just as a 5th gear in a regular car(...) I had a few is200 's before and this is just the same but feels twice as big and heavy. On both 200's and 250's I would pick an automatic gearbox - but when you buy second hand you go for the healthiest and good looking one, not by specs. Also, make your homework before buying to make sure you don't buy a £500 a year road tax car ! On the is250 you can get a week apart registered cars, some having a £325 tax , and the same car, registered a few days later having a tax going over £500. Happy motoring !
