There’s no Euro NCAP crash test rating, but IS a solid and fairly modern design. All models have driver, passenger and side airbags plus ABS. It’s a very secure car – consistently topping break-in tests – with strong locks and a standard alarm. Some owners may also have fitted a tracking system.

The eye-catching Sportcross has a smaller load area than a traditional medium estate but still has a useful amount of space for luggage and shopping. it’s designed to be a lifestyle accessory rather than ultimately practical, but it is a significant improvement on the saloon for load carrying potential.
