What are the running costs?

Toyota’s hybrid systems are renowned for their fuel economy, and our testing has shown the Lexus LBX is equally impressive in this respect. Lexus claims 61-63mpg for the front-wheel-drive model, and 59mpg for the all-wheel-drive car.

Lexus LBX review (2024)
The LBX’s hybrid system is very efficient.

During our testing, we found that you should be able to achieve similar figures in careful driving, with 50mpg likely on a motorway run, 55mpg on a mix of everything and 60mpg-plus around town. It’s in urban settings where the LBX’s hybrid system is at its most efficient. CO2 emissions also range between 102g/km and 113g/km, which are impressive for a small SUV.

Servicing and warranty

While the LBX comes as standard with a three-year, 60,000-mile warranty, if you have your car serviced at a Lexus main dealer, after every service the warranty is extended for an additional 12 months or 10,000 miles. This lasts up to an impressive 10 years or 100,000 miles. Sibling brand Toyota also offers this, and it’s the longest warranty of any manufacturer.

In terms of servicing, the LBX needs to be checked annually (or at 10,000 miles). The cost for an intermediate service is £285, with a full service coming in at £505. Prices are correct at the time of writing (August 2024).

Reliability

Few cars are more reliable on the road than those from Lexus and Toyota. The brand has an enviable reputation for its vehicles’ dependability, and there’s nothing to suggest the LBX will be any different, especially considering it shares many elements with the Yaris and Yaris Cross.

The LBX has only been on sale for a short amount of time, with no recalls yet affecting the car. Should you have any trouble with your car, Lexus’s dealers are renowned for their level of customer service too.

If you already own a Lexus LBX, why not leave a Parkers owners review to help others?
