Lexus NX (2014 - 2021) 300h Sport auto 5d Owner Review

In their own words
I had the NX for 2 years and drove 16000 miles. I had a Lexus Service plan and all of the staff at Lexus Stockport were fantastic, professional and reliable. Sure, the car does make a noise - when accelerating with its CVT gearbox compared to other 2.4L petrol engines - but that means there's also no dual clutch system to replace in the future (costing £££'s.) And it also gives decent performance in' Economy' mode, great accelleration in 'Normal' mode and superb getaways in 'Sport' mode. The NX steering is quite car-like. I certainly did not feel like I was driving a massive SUV at any time. The added black alloy wheels on my Sport Model gave it a very nice look from the outside albeit I lost tinted rear side windows compared to the Premium or Luxury Model. From the inside, the car had a lot of features - sometimes it was worth trying to switch modes just to see how many MPG it would get in each. The Lexus NX for me was just a supremely reliable car that was enjoyable to drive, coupled with a decent audio system (MP3 usb audio, DAB Radio mostly), excellent GPS Mapping/Sat NAV and great space, front and back. After swapping to a smaller Lexus this year, I definitely miss my NX 300% and I would definitely purchase again (if my partners insurance premium is reduced as more no-claims are built up over the yeaes ahead.) Which is the only reason I had to swap. Take it for a test drive. You'll find it much better than most reviewers say it is. You'll find it cheaper to run and service than other cars too.
Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
At times, in heavy traffic for example, I could drive slowly and use battery EV mode to get 55mpg. This works upto 20mph and is very useful when stuck crawling in traffic. The battery does have a low range and it DOES quickly run down BUT it was useful. Plus I don't know of a single 4*4 SUV Petrol that could get 38mpg (averaged) with the power that the NX has, from its 2.4L Petrol Engine.About their car
