What does this car say about you?

Appreciates there's more to driving than owning a Golf or an Astra.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Very impressed and want to know what it's like with the top down.

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would but would do more research even though it took us 9 months to find this one.

Did you get a good deal and why?

Car had a service history and looked like a really good buy. Although we had not looked at any other Elan or driven one before - this one was perfect but maybe should have looked at others as well.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Wanted something different and special.

What was the dealer like?

Bought used from a private seller.

What's it like to drive?

Really good. Makes you feel like you're driving on air and able to take bends at speeds you'd never expect the car to manage.

What's it like to park?

Easy. Good visibility all round.

Have you had any problems with the car?

One major issue which was the camshaft shearing off and damaging the cylinder head. Engine rebuild was required but first the parts had to be found which was easier said than done. The car wasn't been driven at speed when this happened and had just had a cambelt change. The mechanics thoughts were that someone in the cars history hadn't maintained the oil changes enough or checked regularly.

What's most practical about your car?

Parking and spacious boot and rear space behind the seats.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

Doesn't really have gadgets but I appreciate it having electric windows and being able to watch the turbo boost work. Favourite option - being a passenger!
