Should you buy one?

If you like the sound of a big engine in your luxurious convertible, the answer is probably no. However, if you’re open to the idea of having an electric cabriolet and enjoy comfort and refinement above all else, the Maserati GranCabrio Folgore is in a class of its own.

We think it’s actually one of the best convertibles you can buy, with its mix of performance, comfort and glamour putting it in the same echelons as the Bentley Convertible GTC

Its small electric range and impractical boot do compromise it as a car you’ll easily drive great distances in, but if that’s not such a priority, we think the Grancabrio Folgore is certainly worth a look. Plus, if you still want your Maserati convertible with an engine, there’s still the petrol-powered Grancabrio Trofeo

What we like

Though looks are subjective, we think the Grancabrio Folgore looks absolutely stunning both inside and out, with the interior feeling especially luxurious. Roof up or down it’s very refined and comfortable, and the performance on offer is incredible.

What we don’t like

The real-world range of between 170 and 220 miles, depending on temperature, compromises the Grancabrio Folgore as a good long-distance car. It’ll also be a tough sell compared to the cheaper petrol model, and the boot is particularly small.
