Maserati MC20 Cielo Spyder verdict
Should you buy one?
Unless you’re looking for the sharpest, fastest thing on four wheels, absolutely. While the MC20 Cielo is by no means perfect, it makes a refreshing change from some of the hyperactive supercars currently available. Long journeys should hold no fear, and it’s certainly exciting to drive once you’ve arrived at your destination.
Ultimately, the Ferrari 296 is sharper to drive and quicker, but I suspect most MC20 owners will have space in the garage for both.
What we like
It’s not intimidating or uncomfortable when you’re driving normally, so you’ll use it more often than you think. If you do poke it with a stick, it’s fast and involving.
What we don’t like
There are elements of the interior that don’t sit well with the price tag, and we’d like to see more physical buttons, too. It can also be a bit lairy when the electronic safety net gets pulled away, and it could sound better.
