Mazda 3 Hatchback 1.6 TS 5d (2004/54) Owner Review

Economy
Value
TS not cheap at over £13,000 and interior plastics are slightly tacky, but overall it's a great car and the CD player, air con, traction control, air bags and petrol consumption make it a very good buy.
Costs
Petrol consumption is excellent. I am getting over 370 miles to one tank of petrol which is 100 more than in my previous car (Corolla) which had a similar siz tank. Don't know about servicing costs yet, as i've only done 3,500 miles in the Mazda.

On the road
Driving
Very smooth drive, goes over humps and bumps better than any other car i've driven
Performance
Great on the motorway, will cruise silently and comfortably at 80-90. Very good around town, but not the quickest out of the blocks.

Living with it
Reliability
I've had my Mazda 3 TS since January and (touch wood) absolutely no problems yet. Not even a rattle!
Image
The looks and the comfortable ride are what made me buy the Mazda in the first place. It looks stunning and if you want a bit of individualism it's much better to drive around in than a bog standard Focus or Astra.
Comfort
The Mazda 3 really scores on comfort. There is ample room for very tall drivers to stretch their legs. Ditto the back. Seats very nice. The ride is sensuous for a car in this category.

Security and Service
Security
All sorts of gadgets here. Deadlocks and alarms galore, along with window etching, and totally built in stereo.
Service
I bought Mazda from TW White in Orpington and they were excellent
