Summary
What does this car say about you?
Bought the car for what it could do on the road - not for what it might say. In fact it's great that there are no distinguishing marks on the rear to indicate the power. It simply says "Sport".
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
They like it - especially my daughter who wants it, if ever I'm selling it. She'll have to wait for some time !!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Don't anticipate having a need to change this car for some time, as it really has all the features I wanted. If the time comes to change I'd certainly get another or whatever improved version had been brought out.
What are you likely to buy next?
Another Mazda.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
July 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
A good deal was negotiated with a good trade in price on my Mazda 1.6 Sport. They seemed willing to negotiate in a pleasant manner.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
For all that it offered in power and trim for the price, and for reliability. Previously had a smaller engined Mazda 3 Sport 1.6 petrol.
What was the dealer like?
Went from Exeter to Poole to look at car found via internet. Was treated very well and the premises were smart. No pressure to complete deal, although it was obvious I was interested to have travelled to see it.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Behaves very well in town driving, but has great power and acceleration when needed. Handling is great & the only downside is some road noise when going at speed. The great sound system can overcome this, however. Very happy with the economy, on a good run, with a mix of roads & speeds, have averaged 60mph and consumption of 50mpg more than once. The cruise control is very flexible and makes motorway driving more relaxing, with the engine having the power to not struggle at all.
What's it like to park?
Rear sensors make parking comparitively easy along with the electrically adjustable overtaking mirrors to see the kerb. These can also br folded in electrically once parked.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing has gone wrong & it's a joy to get into & drive. However, had quite a shock when recently looking to upgrade the SD card for the Sat Nav. Can't do it yourself, need to get a new one through dealer and cost was coming on for £200. Guess I can put up with a bit out of date and use some common sense.
What's most practical about your car?
The readout in large figures, so that I can see it without glasses on, of current fuel consumption really helps you to be aware of economical driving - most times.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Great to have heated, memory seats and individual air con. My wife & I have a big difference in seat adjustments & she often wants a different temperature.
