Mazda 3 Hatchback (2013 - 2019) 2.2d Sport Nav 5d Owner Review

This is an update of an earlier review, in 2020 .
Five years ago I bought this used diesel ( my first derv) and truly enjoyed the driving experience.
Yes there's been both good and not so good (carbon issues on injectors and pickup strainer, timing chain and new water pump at 107k MLS) times..
Done over 55k mls since, with no major issues.
Because of that carbon issue earlier, I change the oil and filter every 6k mls and a major service 20k mls better safe than sorry..
I travel on average 300 + mls weekly and since the carbon clean-out, getting 8 more mls per gallon than pre carbon cleaning
I'm 68 and thinking about retirement, in four years.
By which time, the old guy should be hopefully ,about 220k.
It been and continues to be a wonderful driving experience.....just remember diesels cannot be driven like petrol cars ( short journeys) ...that was my early mistake and I ended up with a costly carbon issue 😁
