Mazda 323 Fastback 1.5 Imola 5d (1998/R) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
I bought mine when it was 7 years old for £875. Not bad for what I got for my money.
Costs
Parts are expensive. Petrol consumption very reasonable and insurance lower than I expected. Lower priced road tax as well.

On the road
Driving
Hugs the road if taking bends fast.
Performance
Not much performance until you get into high gears. Engine screams in pull away and can be very painful if you want to pull away fast. The car looks more impressive than what it is.

Living with it
Reliability
Air flow meter was affecting the engine so had to replace it. Still idles a bit low when cold.
Image
Looks good with great rimless side windows. spoiler adds to sporty feel and it has a great bulging backside.
Comfort
Loads of legroom in front and back. Very comfy driving position. Poor vision from back window makes reversing and parking difficult.

Security and Service
Security
No alarm on mine. Only an immobiliser.
Service
Not had to use manufacturer.
