Economy
Value
Excellent! Great drive. Great looks. Always puts a smile on my face. Tons more fun than the Mondeo I almost bought!
Costs
Some parts can be more expensive compared to others e.g. Ford.

On the road
Driving
Good Fun! Only minus I've found is it's not always easy to judge distance of objects and other cars at front and sides - they seem closer than they are!
Performance
Nice V6 growl when pushed and smooth a silk when taking it easy. Engine pretty flat below 3500rpm, but then Woosh!

Living with it
Reliability
Excellent overall. Only had one fault - the common rear brake seizure, but no probs since calipers replaced. Rear washer pump failed. That's all since I bought it in 98!
Image
This car looks GREAT!
Comfort
Ventilation poor on my non-A/C model. Very prone to steaming up! I'm 6ft and 17.5 stone. Not enough headroom to have seat back as upright as I prefer. Also not enough side support when driving hard.

Security and Service
Security
Don't know if the locks are easy to pick, but no one's got in and I fitted a Cat 1 alarm and immobilser.
Service
Maufacturer I can't comment on, but the quality of customer service from my local Mazda dealer was very poor and very expensive service costs! Since, found a much nicer and affordable independant garage.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Tappets noisy from a cold start, but had no problems. I'm told this is normal on the V6.
Other
Rear brake calipers seized up - 1 replaced under used warranty. The other cost £250 - ouch!
