What does this car say about you?

Family man who made the wrong choice of MPV!!!

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Would you buy this car again and why?

NO! Far too many problems. Mazda Customer Services are unprofessional. After initially seeming okay, the dealer was simply dreadful. The tyre wear on this vehicle is dangerous and yet Mazda state there is not a problem. Why then do they offer to pay up to 70% of the cost of replacing the first set of tyres? Put simply, the car and Mazda are a joke!

What are you likely to buy next?

Pogo Stick, roller skates, both of which have a smoother ride and are more comfortable and reliable than a Mazda 5! Seriously, looking at a big Volvo Estate - comfy, reliable and most importantly for a family - safe!

Not bad, was pre-registered so got a bit of money off list price.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Practical for family use. Fuel economy. Rear sliding doors.

    What was the dealer like?

At first, okay, then as problems with the car increased, their attitude was dismissive, disinterested and at times, rude!

  • Driving it

    2 out of 5 2.0

    What's it like to drive?

Handles okay for an MPV. Nothing startling. Steering too light and vague. Suspension far too hard, very uncomfortable on some 'A' or 'B' roads.

    What's it like to park?

    Not too bad.

  • Living with it

    1 out of 5 1.0

Have you had any problems with the car?

Where do I start? Suspension bushes, diesel particle filter, engine over-run when you turn the ignition off, ongoing problems with tracking resulting in uneven tyre wear, 4 sets of rear tyres in 40,000 miles - yet Mazda say this is normal for this car!! How can uneven tyre wear be normal? Sliding rear doors stick and become heavy to use for children, interior flimsy for a Mazda, in-dash cd player replaced twice, electric windows stopped working, automatic wipers have a mind of their own, continual and quite severe pull to the left, and again, Mazda claim this is normal!

What's most practical about your car?

Thought sliding doors would prove useful but over time, become heavy and stick.

    Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

In dash cd player - when it works!
