Summary
What does this car say about you?
A bit different from the norm and not prepared to buy the same as everyone else, i.e. a German estate car in either black, silver or grey.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Friends and family love the car. Neighbours are unsure what it is as it is not German made and black.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I certainly would buy this car again as I have been around the brands now. This far outweighs the Fords, Vauxhall, Peugeot, Rover, and Audi cars I have owned.
What are you likely to buy next?
Probably another Mazda (next generation). Maybe Mazda will import the CX-9 into the UK, which is even nicer looking than the 6.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£17,790
When did you buy the car?
November 2010
Did you get a good deal and why?
This car had only 500 miles when I bought so hardly 'used', but paid well below the new price
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Like the look of the car and especially the velocity red colour. Owned 5 Mazdas previously and loved them.
What was the dealer like?
Holdcrofts of Stoke were good and restored my trust in dealers. Gave me a reasonable part exchange price as well.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
An absolute gem. Light steering when parking, smooth quiet engine and plenty of performance. This does not lack power and you can tell it has 163bhp. The diesel engine is extremely quiet, I honestly thought this was a petrol at first.
What's it like to park?
My only slight criticism is the rear view, which narrows, but apart from that easy.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
I have not done a huge amount of miles, but nothing to date and I don't expect any problems with it. My last 'problem' with a Mazda was in 1990.
What's most practical about your car?
It is an Estate, so the rear fits the dog nicely. Not really pushed it to the limit by trying to fit a wardrobe in it.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Rear vehicle monitoring (RVM) for blind spots is a good safety device, not that I am a bad driver.
