Summary
What does this car say about you?
Sporty but practical family car
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
In velocity red, it's a great looking car
Would you buy this car again and why?
Due to the problems I've had, I would not go for a Mazda again as a first choice,
What are you likely to buy next?
I'm leaning to a german or swedish car next, VW, audi, BMW, Volvo, or Saab are among my favourite brands, but it depends on budget, as I will be buying used.

Buying experience

Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£8,995
When did you buy the car?
August 2007
Did you get a good deal and why?
Nothing special, offered a very low value for my trade in R reg Passat Estate of only 750 pounds, which I feel should have been a bit more..
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Good looking pratical car, with lowest milleage for my budget at the time
What was the dealer like?
Decent friendly sales person, but not much for negotiating a better trade in deal

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The engine is a little restless when cold, once warmed up it runs like a dream. Engine , wind and tire noise become a bit intrusive at motorway speeds, runs and handles best around 60 mph in 5th gear, on a nice winding road :-) zoom zoom indeed
What's it like to park?
Parallel parking is a little tricky as view is a little obstructed in some angles, but the spoiler is a good reference on where the car ends. Turning circle is a little on the wide side though.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Leaking rear light cluster filled up the boot with water, corroded oil pipe caused loss of engine oil, replaced just in time, one factory recall for a power steering part.
What's most practical about your car?
Large boot space, while the looks are not as boring as an estate car, it offers almost the same practicallity.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Airco, cruise control, Bose sound system
