Summary
What does this car say about you?
It says I am not a Mondeo or Insignia driver on the one hand and the other indicates mid-life crisis is still to come as it is not an MX-5.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
In shock that I am letting my Saab go.
Would you buy this car again and why?
100% for sure, but next one would be 2.2 diesel.
What are you likely to buy next?
Aspiring to a Mazda6 Mk3 estate diesel, if not an electric car.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£4,000
When did you buy the car?
November 2015
Did you get a good deal and why?
I live in Northern Ireland where used cars appear to hold their price more than in GB. £4000 for a 2009 car with 42k miles and full Mazda service history appeared a good deal.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Price and based on Parkers, What Car? and Carbuyer.co.uk review.
What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
For me the reviews were right. It is both nimble in town driving. sure footed on country roads (aplenty in N.Ireland) and composed on motorway. Really pleased.
What's it like to park?
Rear visibility is tricky and I a bought it and budgeted to have parking sensors fitted. Very good wing mirrors assist, and as weeks go on wondering if I need to bother with parking sensors.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
So far the car has not missed a beat. Only slight niggle is rear passenger doors don't appear to close on first go and require a second attempt.
What's most practical about your car?
Boot is huge and very easy to fold down rear seats.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
TS is most basic model, but appreciate the fact that is came with alloys as standard. I have been driving a Saab 9-5 for the last 10 years and was not sure if I could ever get a driver's seat as comfortable again, until I discovered the Mk2 Mazda6. The seats and car generally feel a lot more solid than a Mazda5 that my wife previously owned.
