Mazda 6 (2013 - 2022) SkyActiv-D 150ps SE-L Nav+ (07/2018 on) 4d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
Ive owned Mazda's for years, over ten to be exact. But this one has seriously knocked the confidences i had for them. Its been a great car upto about 100k. In the last month, ive lost the turbo, oil pump, rear break calipers, timing chain needed replacing, dpf glogged up, scbs warning lights, and a fully blocked and hindered engine as a result of carbon build up. Its a real shame, as the Mazda 6 is a pretty car from any angle, and the drive (when its not in a garage) is brilliant!!
I could understand having the issues ive had if id used it on small journeys in stop start traffic......but it has genuinely spent 90% of its time on the motorway as a commuter and has never missed its 12000 mile service.
Im really disapointed with this new mazda 6, but in its defence, i feel the madatory DPF isntalment has made a great car....really really bad!
My advice would be to buy new, enjoy a really well built lovely to drive car. But sell at the 80-90k mark before you end up having to take out a small mortgage to run it (they are not cheap to fix)
How reliable do you find the car?
This car was amazing until it hit 100k (nothing but services/breaks to sort out). Unfortunately the gremlins really set in after 100k and they were very expensive gremlins.About their car
