What does this car say about you?

Driving a car like this definitely makes other people more aware of you. The glances and smiles you get as well as the odd comment in the petrol station from someone, the common one is 'WOW, nice car'.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

My family and friends love the car, they have all been out for a short drive and have all enjoyed it, even my nan thought about buying one as she loved it so much!

Would you buy this car again and why?

I would definitely buy another one, its a brilliant car. It has got more than enough power and is a lovely drive. I'vebeen in other cars, such as an Impreza and Skoda VRSs and even a Bentley Continental. And although all these cars are a lot faster, they all lack a special feeling that the MX-5 gives.

What are you likely to buy next?

To be honest I'm currently looking to purchase a van, but if everything goes to plan I will be purchasing a newer MX-5, probably a Mk3, over the winter when prices drop.

Did you get a good deal and why?

As with any car you purchase when buying privately you point out the bad points in hope that you will be able to knock off a few £££. Gladly this worked for me and I walked away with a bargain.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

A cheap affordable sports car with brilliant build quality. It's one of the best driving cars around!

What's it like to drive?

Driving it on the road is a dream. I would choose to do a long journey in this over most other cars on the road! Although the engine isn't the quickest the imports come with 115bhp as standard which is more than enough especialy for the country roads. It goes round corners so smoothly and you get the impression that everyone is looking at you as you drive past. It brings a BIG smile to my face.

What's it like to park?

Parking isn't a problem, although the bonnet sometimes seems long it really isn't and you get used to it within a few days. And if you have the roof down you have a 360 degree view so you can see everything around you. These also come with power steering so there are no tired arms when trying to park into tight spaces.

Have you had any problems with the car?

I wil be honest it has had the odd problem, however it's to be expected as it's nearly 25 years old. There has been an issue with the headlights where only dip would work. And a rust spot has started to develop on the rear of one of the sills. However this is very common for these cars especialy at this age.

What's most practical about your car?

The car wasn't designed to be a practical car but more of a driver's car, it does have good legroom and even decent head room.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

One of the best things about this car is the fact it comes with a LSD (imports only) This delivers an amazing drive and constant grip to the road. It also has some nice features for an old car such as A/C and also speakers built into the head rest.
