Economy
Value
Excellent value. You will not get another sporty car with this look and feel for your money.
Costs
Cheap parts if you look on the net. Fitted new soft top myself, purchased for £395 (bargain) A new roof transforms the look of a car, I recommend getting one if yours is a little tired. Tyres £30 each.

On the road
Driving
A real pocket rocket! Sits on the road beautifully. A great looker. Nice driving position. Precise steering. Gear box a little stiff (in 1st gear) before it warms up. Bumpy ride till you get used to it, then to appreciate the suspension on the handling.
Performance
Best used on corners, in the dry. The boy-racers stare at you in awe as you whip away at the lights. Not a FAST car, but more than good enough for the state of todays roads. I have heard the rear can be skippy in the wet, but I am yet to experience that.

Living with it
Reliability
Perfection. Never let me down. Starts first time no matter what the weather. Flew through MOT, no problems at all. If you want a reliable sporty number, the MX5 is for you.
Image
A real head turner with the roof down, and the roof up for that matter. I do feel it is more of a woman's car than a man's.
Comfort
Not much comfort, but these were not designed for luxuries. These are modeled on the British sports car. What you see is what you get. If you want a plush dash, many gadgets and buttons, this car is not for you.

Security and Service
Security
Not great security wise, but as with all soft tops (and all cars today!) - never leave ANYTHING on show when leaving your car. I've never had a problem, or had my roof slashed, but I never give the scum the temptation.
