Economy
Value
Relatively expensive second-hand considering the age, but hold value well once purchased.
Costs
Mazda main dealers very expensive, but not necessary to use. can be serviced by any good mechanic.
-
On the road
Driving
Rear wheel drive. Go-kart fun handling.
Performance
Light car, so even with small engine its fun, if not very quick (8 secs 0-60mph).
-
Living with it
Reliability
Perfect up to 10 years old. Some age related problems now (i.e.. Needed new battery and exhaust system after 10 years)
Image
Pop-up headlights. People think it's much faster than it is!
Comfort
1990's design, so sporty rather than comfortable.

Security and Service
Security
Built-in immobiliser, but no alarm fitted as standard. Buy a hard-top for security in winter.
Service
Very expensive. Discount through MX5 Club membership (but still expensive).
