Summary
What does this car say about you?
With so many inaccurate preconceptions out there. Don't think about what it says about you, because there will always be some idiot that refuses to see it as nothing but a hairdressers car. Think instead about the smile it puts on your face.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Generally impressions are greatly improved after driving it or being a passenger in it. Granted some will never like it seeing it as impractical toy car, but there is just no helping some people.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Nope, I don't want sell this one and why would I want too?
What are you likely to buy next?
Probably a Land Rover Defender 90. I think that would complement the 5 nicely since you can't get more different.

£1,500

June 2009
Did you get a good deal and why?
For prices in London, near summer yes. But really if you want an MX-5 buy in winter and be prepared to travel.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I wanted a fun second car (it later became my only car).

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
OK, it's noisy on the motorways but with no gadgets or gizmos to get in the way it's an involving drive without being tiring. There aren't many cars you could drive round inner London, and then round a race track and not feel compromised doing either in quite the same way as a 5.
What's it like to park?
It'll happy rival most city intended superminis.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
I had a pair of HT leads fail, and the radiator cracked near the cap.
What's most practical about your car?
It's not a practical car end of... What it is though is a lot less impractical then you'd think for a two-seater sports car.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Pop up lights. Nothing brings out the kid in you like pop up lights...
