Summary
What does this car say about you?
I still have a sense of fun.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Apart from the odd hairdresser jibe they are seriously impressed by the package - especially given the price, performance and reliability we enjoy.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes. Instantly. It's just so good on so many levels.
What are you likely to buy next?
For my commute to work? Another Mondeo. For weekends in France and blasts across the downs with the hood down? Another MX5 if we can ever bear to be parted with this one.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchise
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£14,500
When did you buy the car?
September 2008
Did you get a good deal and why?
Cracking deal - it was the height of the credit crunch and cars weren't selling.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Wanted one for years - it is the perfect 2 seater soft top. Simple, fun, practical and reliable.
What was the dealer like?
Promised the world and delivered somewhat less.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Sheer bliss. We almost always have the hood down, even in the winter (with the heater full blast.) It goes where you point it, has pin sharp steering, bags of power and fabulous road holding. I sit there grinning like an idiot just blown away by this car.
What's it like to park?
A doddle to park but you need a lot of room to open the doors. When you do op-en them you need to be very careful not to take a slice out of paint on the car next to you.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Hasn't had a single problem in over 20k miles.
What's most practical about your car?
Practical? In a 2 seater soft top? Get real. Seriously though - It's got a flexible engine, drives like a charm and my wife uses it to go to the supermarket and daily pottering around.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Err... there aren't any gadgets although the electronic stability control is excellent in the wet.
