Summary
What does this car say about you?
I like having a car that brings pure enjoyment to every day driving. Also that I love having a convertible when the sun is eventually out in the UK!
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Family/Friends are all very impressed! A few hairdresser jibes here and there from the lads but I can guarantee I have more fun in my car than they do in theirs!
Would you buy this car again and why?
So far, yes I would... not had my MX-5 long so I'm not getting rid any time soon. I would love a mint condition Mk1 MX-5.
What are you likely to buy next?
Not entirely sure but the Alfa Romeo Brera 2.4 JTDM is tempting... great looking car. Delighted with the MX-5 and will keep it for at least 1/2 years.

No
What price did you pay?
£5,500

Yes... I was pleased with the deal. Was able to knock £500 off the asking price with a 3 month warranty.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Fancied a change from the norm.
What was the dealer like?
Excellent. Bought from a MX-5 specialist so naturally they were very helpful... not pushy.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Brilliant car to drive and always brings a smile to my face. Great engine with plenty of power and fairly quick off the line. So much fun on B roads and surprisingly smooth to drive, however can be jerky driving across bumpy surfaces. A little noisy on the motorway but that's a given for a convertible. Fuel consumption is pretty good for a 2.0i petrol, I fill the tank once a week (approx. £50) and it gets me 250-300 miles.
What's it like to park?
Visibility poor out the back but it's a doddle to park.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No and hopefully not. MX-5s have improved significantly and I trust Mazda as a reliable car manufacturer.
What's most practical about your car?
Not much. I'm young with no kids... I figured I should get a two seater while I can! It's good because I can get out of doing lifts.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Convertible, heated seats, steering wheel controls.
