The 115bhp 1.8 or the 2.0i engines both deliver brisk performance, although the 2.0 is the better choice for a full load. All units could be more refined and feel breathless when stretched. The 2.0 diesel performs best at cruising speeds.
Steering lacks feel and feedback and the gear lever is positioned too low for taller drivers. Softly-sprung, so it’s comfortable over most surfaces. The downside is that the body lurches too much. Easy to drive, but a little van-like.
