Mazda RX-8 (192ps) 4d (2004/54) Owner Review

Economy
Value
This is an awful lot of car for the money.
Costs
At 22-25mpg you make a lot of visits to the filling station. But you don't buy an RX8 for its economy. Scare stories about oil consumption have come to nothing - I've added a couple of thimbles full in the first 3,000 miles.

Driving
This car has a real 'feel good factor'. It does what you want when you want. The rotary engine has a unique sound.
Performance
Great handling - you can really hit those corners with confidence. Plenty of oomph under your right foot when you want it.

Living with it
Reliability
No problems encountered so far.
Image
Fantastic looks - a real head-turner. And ridiculously practical for a sports coupe - it has a usable boot.
Comfort
Bucket seats give great support. There's plenty of leg room in the front (I'm 6foot2) and the back has enough room for the kids. Even after a long trip, there are no aches and pains.

Security and Service

It seems well equipped with alarm and immobiliser and, so far, I've had no problems.
