Mazda Tribute 2.0 GSI 4WD 5d (2003/03) Owner Review

Economy
Value
A lot of car for the money, it has everything I wanted.
Costs
The first service was £213 at the Mazda dealer, which included a half-price valet. Probably a little extravagant with petrol, I'm achieving 29mpg on mixed driving.

On the road
Driving
I'm conscious that it doesn't handle fast bends too well, but I've never pushed it to find its limits!
Performance
Good acceleration in lower gears, takes a while to get up to speed on motorway. It handled 260kg of slate chippings in the back with no problems, so it would be ideal for wine/beer runs to France.

Living with it
Reliability
Had the annual service, it has been fine so far.
Image
A year on, I'm still pleased with its looks, especially as the spare wheel is hidden away and not tacked on the back.
Comfort
Huge amount of space and comfort when driving, you aren't trussed up in the seat as I found with the Honda CRV. I opted for fabric as the leather seats were very sweaty even on a short test drive.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm and immobiliser thankfully haven't been tested yet, but the alarm is stable in stormy weather, unlike some in my neighbourhood!
Service
Servicing was done well, customer care a little lacking though.
