Mercedes-Benz 190 Series 190E 2.0 4d Auto (1990/G) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Excellent value, even compared with Vauxhall and Ford equivalents.
Costs
Parts now available much cheaper than main dealers at motor factors.
-
On the road
Driving
Lovely drive - excellent handling, precise steering, so easy to drive.
Performance
Plenty of power behind the right foot, even after 139k - watch those hot hatches disappear in the rear-view mirror.
-
Living with it
Reliability
No problems noted so far. Starts first time, even in the most bitter weather.
Image
The 3-pin star on the bonnet and the huge grille are just a HUGE pose!
Comfort
Seats fairly comfortable, but should be ok for a long haul.

Security and Service
Security
No deadlocks, but lock buttons cannot be lifted if window smashed! After-market system already installed, as well as an Autolock 2000. It's going nowhere.
Service
Just a bit over-priced for servicing (£280 for a 12k service).
