Mercedes-Benz A-Class Hatchback A 180 SE 7G-DCT auto 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
The handbook is a nightmare. It describes every function available on the top of the range model, whereas I bought at the entry level. The handover was particularly poor from the dealership and due to the difficulties in coping with COVID 19 I have had a real struggle. Little support from the dealership ever since I have had the vehicle. But at every step when I found out how each function worked, I have been amazed and delighted, but it’s all been down to me to find out for myself.
The ride is top quality with body hugging comfortable seats and a smooth ride. Steering is very direct and the car rides over broken and potholed roads with hardly a murmur. Economy at an average of 44 mpg is better than I had expected. For me as a non techy driver I am delighted with the car. It may be the entry level Mercedes A class but the interior has the look of something far more expensive. Niggles, yes there is one which really bugs me, no electric folding wing mirrors. I get in the car, set the sat nav, put my seat belt on and then realise I have still not unfolded the wing mirrors after getting it out of the garage. Would I buy another.......you bet, but from a different dealer!
How reliable do you find the car?
Due to COVID have done well below my normal 9000 miles in a year. Also mostly short runs of only te miles or so. Two longer runs of 70 miles all motorway or duel carriageway.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
The electronics s are amazing. I have never had so much information at my finger tips in a car. Mind you it has taken me a considerable amount of time reading the handbook and the trying to find out if functions described in the handbook were available on my particular model.About their car
