Mercedes-Benz B-Class (2012 - 2019) B180 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY SE 5d Owner Review

Ok car, cheap to tax and good on fuel. That's about it really. The headlights are dreadful, ok on main beam but useless on dipped. I drive a duel carriageway to work each day, it's unlit and the cats eyes on the road are virtually non existent. In the dark, with cars coming the other way so I can't use main beam you really can't see particularly well. When it's dark and bucketing down with rain with spray everywhere, it really is awful. So much so I really don't feel safe in it. The reversing lights are a joke. I live in the sticks, meet a car coming the other way at night where you have to reverse is a nightmare, you can't see a thing.
The sat nav isn't particularly good either. Speak to it and nine times out of ten it doesn't come up with what you want, same when you type things in. Ok if you can actually pinpoint somewhere on the map.
It has a firm ride, ok when I lived in town but now I'm back out in the country where the roads are bad and often get flooded it's the wrong car and I've got rid of it, got a Hyundai 4x4. The headlights on the Hyundai are excellent and the reversing lights would light up a football pitch. The wading depth puts everything Mercedes sells to shame...apart from the G Wagon which you need to be a millionaire to buy anyway!
As for the Mercedes, it's an ok car, let down by the poor lights. I hope the newer models lights are better (they couldn't be any worse) but to be honest, despite the prestigious badge I think there's much better similar vehicles out ther by other manufacturers.
