From outside a bit of a non-entity - for passengers - they love it
Would you buy this car again and why?
No - I moved to Mercedes from Honda. The Mercedes has had three faults outwith service in it's first year and one of these (the re-call) reflects suspect build quality. No matter how nice the 'service' is or the importance of the badge (not to me) I don't expect faults like these on a car which costs this much...especially in its first year. The engine is punchy and economical but is noisy. My previous three cars were Honda and I never had to take the car into a garage for work outwith the standard service schedule - that's the difference.
What are you likely to buy next?
Honda FRV Diesel or VW Group similar.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The car is easy to drive with good gearing - the sixth gear pushes economy overall in 20k miles to 47 mpg. It is punchy. The driving position is superb even if it doesn't handle like a sports car - didn't expect that though! One bad point - it is noisy - too noisy for a car at this price. I also note some rattles developing which irritate.

Easy to park- you know where it ends!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
1. Fault with rear washer in cold weather - disconnected from mechanism flooding inner door skin.'Modification done' - let's see if it works. 2. Handle for hatch door ceased working ..probably as a result of the fault above. New switch required. 3. Recall flagged at first service for badly fitting panels at rear leading to paint damage.
What's most practical about your car?
The boot is vast - and easy access. passenger access and space is also superb - kids call it The Tardis.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Heated seats are spot on...with seat upgrade.
