Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe (2011 - 2015) C220 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY AMG Sport 2d Owner Review

In their own words
I've had this car 5 years from new and it still has that new feel to it. Everything is still screwed down and tight, no squeaks, no rattles. 86,000 miles mainly on the motorways and appreciating the automatic when crawling in the jams. Practicality - the only real downside is getting in/out of the back seats, but I drive it so don't really care about that. Probably less than 1,000 of the 86,000 mile have included 2 rear passengers, so hardly a deal breaker. The boot is a decent size and I've even had 4 decent suitcases in there, and not cabin size carry-ons. Reliability - never had a problem (touch wood). Running costs - so much car so relatively low costs. OK, the servicing can be a hit in the wallet (72,000 mile service, ouch!) but if you get a service plan it can help. TIP - start a plan when having a service, not when you buy it new. Service plans are annual so you can work it to get 2 services in 1 annual plan if you do relatively high mileage. Mileage typically 55+ mpg and if I ever took a motorway journey averaging 70 then would hit 60 mpg. If you can ever get reasonably clear motorway and average 80+ the mileage will still deliver 55 mpg. Tyres, about 130 per corner typically and I'm only on third set with plenty of rubber left. How it drives - quick and goes where I point it. Occasionally switch to "sports" mode and it clings on to the gear a little longer for a bit more oomph, but to be honest, the normal mode is good enough. Never use the flippy paddles in"manual" mode. Only ever had wheel spin a couple of times, and I think that was because of the road surface rather than the car's grip. The niggly bits.... ECO setting -annoying stop/start, turn it off with the ECO button. Always have that suspicion that too much stop/start isn't good for the engine/belts/chains. SAT-NAV - have the Becker (German) supplied from new and it's a pain. Thinks that every UK road is driveable, even the farm tracks in deepest Cornwall. Brilliant.
How reliable do you find the car?
After buying the car, the engine management light came of the day after was a simple fix, simply a lose fuse. 2 months later the engine management light came on again, should say it was a yellow light so means the problem is not as serious as red light. This was because I had not closed the fuel cap correctly. Thankfully that light has never came on again. Bar the normal having to change tyres and the usual there has been no problems from the day of purchase all them years ago.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
Although it is an 8 year old car, I am pleasant surprised with all the extras the car has, my parents have a 2018 mercedes c class saloon that doesn't have as much kit as my 2012 c class coupe does. In fairness I did buy the amg line specifically.About their car
