Summary
What does this car say about you?
I don't think I'd be allowed to type the answer to this........
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
All think it is a lovely car. Both my Father and Farther in Law are petrol heads and they have loved driving it.
Would you buy this car again and why?
I would but not with the 2.5 V6. I this the Diesels are a better choice as the car is way too thirsty.
What are you likely to buy next?
Just ordered an E Class estate 320 CDi Sport Estate

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
I have the C230 Avantgarde SE with the Sports pack. So it has a stiffer set up, hydraulic power steering (For better feel), sports exhaust and massive front disc and calipers. The net result is a sports estate that handles with aplomb and doesn't loose out to much on its ride quality. The car is fairly swift and has a delicious engine note coming from the 2.5 V6. My car came equipped with the 7 speed auto with paddle shift. This gearbox it ill suited to the engine and the engine lacks the torque so it has a tendency to constantly change gear even in comfort mode. Having said that, the shift quality is superb and should you get this car with the 3 litre Turbo Diesel it will be perfect.
What's it like to park?
Plenty of visibility and the three pointed star on the nose helps judge the length of the bonnet.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Nothing major at all. There is an annoying squeak in the dashboard that the Mercedes Gatwick completely failed to fix even though on both occasions they said they had. Apart from that it’s been perfect so far.
What's most practical about your car?
It suits my family needs perfectly as I have 2 children. All the space you really need even when going to France for our 2 week holidays holidays. It's not an enormous load lugger so if you need one of those look elsewhere (E Class perhaps?)
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
My car came with the Command Sat Nav system which is an excellent product and far superior to the systems fitted to BMWs and Audis (I have used both). The i-Pod integration kit is fantastic but I highly recommend you have it fitted when the car is built as it is twice the price if you get the dealer to do it afterwards.
