In their own words
Very good car. My third C class estate (interspersed with an Audi and two BMWs and although the smallest engine of the three (1500cc petrol) the quickest performer by far. On a decent run, 40 - 42 mpg attainable, but around town about 34 - 36 mpg. Comfortable heated seats but although I selected the largest wheel and tyre size available, the car has a rather firm ride. My original C180 estate in 2000 had the best ride of the three Mercs I have owned.. Sound system good quality and I like the infotainment system, although it is rather complicated to use. LED headlights powerful and the interior lighting very good. I'm not too sure about the 'keyless' entry - I still like to put a key into the dashboard to switch on the systems. I'm also not quite sure about the auto selection lever on the steering column- I preferred the central lever where the gear lever would be. The 'hold' brake feature is very useful - when stationary, pressing briefly hard on the footbrake holds the car, until pressing the accelerator to pull away - whether on the flat or on a hill. Main dealer servicing is not cheap (£350 for a small 'A' service and £560 for a large 'B' service (all to be completed every year alternately) but having also owned similar sized Audi and BMW models, there is not much cost difference between them. Reliability so far has been good - no faults apart from a seat belt recall regarding the tensioning device. My previous C180 petrol estate was the most reliable car I have ever owned (in 52 years) and I did not have to spend any money on it apart from services and MOTs. I hope this current model is as good and reliable.
