Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate (2014 - 2021) C300h Sport Premium Plus 5d Auto Owner Review

On purchase from a non Mercedes dealer the car was well presented. It was ‘serviced’ before picking it up but following some small journeys a warning light came on and on contacting the local dealer they stated it was safe to continue driving. Shortly afterwards the warning came up stating it needed ad blue which I purchased and filled the tank. The initial warning light appeared to have rectified itself. After a few hundred miles it reappeared so I contacted the selling dealer who directed me to their closest branch as the car was under warranty who then directed me to the local Mercedes dealer as their warranty was still valid. I was very surprised to receive a call from them after 24hours to be told that my negligence was the reason for the warning light appearing as I had overfilled with ad blue and was charged for draining the tank and for the ad blue to refill it. With 100 miles the warning light reappeared after I had returned home so I contacted my local Mercedes dealer who sent out their mobile support unit who diagnosed a faulty sensor and arranged a replacement vehicle and removed mine for repair. I discussed with the dealer about the alleged ad blue problem it was dismissed out of hand . The repair was carried out and another defect was discovered and another booking was made for this repair to be carried out. The local dealer has been excellent and restored my faith in the manufacturer and their service providers. I also successfully recovered my payment from the dealer who had told me it was my fault by overfilling the ad blue. The car itself has been a excellent purchase and continues to provide reliable economical transport . Obviously the standard of service provided by different dealers varies greatly and it is imperative that you select one who is reliable.
